BioBIO"G-Bowley" EXPLAINEDG-Bowley is my legal name. It's on my birth certificate. It is on my drivers license. And so, it is on my headshot. The "G" stands for "Genovese," my mother's maiden name. She kept her name when she married my father (Mr. Bowley) and due to their creative spirit and worry that "Genovese-Bowley" would be too long for their children to deal with growing up, they decided to give us the name G-Bowley. Which, in the long run, has probably caused more misunderstandings and confusion than the former. However, I have grown to really love my name. I see it as an opportunity for people to remember me a little easier. My elementary school gym teacher called me "G-Bo" long before "Jenny from the Block" was officially "J-Lo."
